Water People Theater proudly announces the finalists for our “Women Creating” Theatrical Concerts for Human Rights. The theatrical concerts will start on March 27 to celebrate WORLD THEATER DAY and run until April 22 at the Instituto Cervantes in Chicago. The organization is pleased with the excellent response to the open call. Out of the forty-seven submitted texts, seventeen were shortlisted and forwarded to an international jury.

The jury, comprising renowned women professionals in Hispanic theater—Cheté Cavagliatto, Rossana Hernández, Amaranta Osorio, Gennys Pérez, and Iraida Tapias—selected five texts “for their quality, courage, and innovation intricately linked to human rights. These dramatic proposals elevate female voices and highlight their commitment to theater made by women.”
