The MUJERES CREANDO call has been a success!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the 47 playwrights from
all over the world who submitted their theatrical texts in defense of Human Rights.
Stay tuned for the announcement of the selected plays on February 1, 2024.
Water People Theater is seeking submissions for
MUJERES CREANDO, the Theatrical Concert Series for Human Rights, to be held in March-April, 2024 in Chicago. The submission deadline is December 10, 2023,
Human Rights Day.
DEADLINE DECEMBER 10 HUMAN RIGHTS DAY
The call is open to female playwrights from Latin America and Spain.
The ‘MUJERES CREANDO (Women Creating)’ Theatrical Concert Series will be a part of the World Theater Day celebration in 2024.
GUIDELINES
- Plays written by female writers from both Latin America and Spain
- The play must be written in Spanish and be an original work
- Maximum 40 pages
- Up to 5 characters
- Only one entry per author
if the play is selected, the English translation must be sent to plays@waterpeople.org by Friday, March 8,2024.
PLAYS WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY FEBRUARY 1, 2024
Each of the selected authors will receive
a $300 cash prize.
