Today Thursday, Sept. 21, Water People Theater, a bilingual theater organization based in Chicago, celebrates 22 years of dedicated history producing high quality theater committed to Human and Social Rights. They have presented classic and contemporary plays, world premieres, theatrical concerts, and multidisciplinary stage proposals, emphasizing Latin and Spanish authors. Water People Theater aims to inspire diverse audiences to become change-makers contributing to a more equitable, just, and inclusive world.

GONE WITH THE SEA, a play written by Rebeca Alemán, choreographed by Vanessa Valecillos, and directed by Iraida Tapias, will be presented at NAVY PIER in the city of Chicago, as part of the CHICAGO Live!’s 2023 programming.

“It is a voice for children who are victims of violence. The aim is to gather as many people as possible in actions aimed at achieving a more just, inclusive, and peaceful society,” commented Rebeca Alemán.

Only six performances left! The new production by Water People Theater, the first of its 2023-2024 season, sets a box office record since its premiere on September 6th in the city of Chicago. This Jeff Recommended production is a unique encounter between two poets, Edgar Allan Poe and Alfonsina Storni, and is designed for an audience of 30 people, taking place in three different spaces at the Instituto Cervantes Chicago.

REGISTRATION NOW OPEN

The new Creative Lab by Water People Theater aimed at children aged 6-11 is open for registration. On this occasion, the play they’ll present is ‘CHRISTMAS FOR EVERYONE’ which will be created in co-production with all the participating children. In addition to acting, the children will collaborate in creating the script, music, set design, costume, and props.
