WE ARE ALL EMIGRANTS

“Our species has an undeniable nomadic genetic essence that contradicts ethnic purity. Whether invaded or invading, refugees, emigrants, exiled or displaced: we are creatures of the diaspora.”

– IRENE VALLEJO

Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Article 2

Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

At Water People Theater,
we work for Human Rights through theater, day and night.

Article 2

Every child has rights

Without discrimination of any kind, irrespective of the child’s or his or her parent’s or legal guardian’s race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national, ethnic or social origin, property, disability, birth or other status.

Discrimination is an abuse of power and affects the most vulnerable. Differences of opinion or criteria do not give anyone or any organization the right to discriminate. One of the collateral damages of discrimination against organizations like ours is depriving refugee children, adolescents, and vulnerable families of the opportunity to continue benefiting from our programs.
