Water People Theater,<\/strong>\u00a0in collaboration with\u00a0the Instituto Cervantes Chicago<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Whatako Productions,<\/strong>\u00a0presents\u00a0LORCA, LIVING THE EXPERIENCE<\/strong>, created and directed by Iraida Tapias<\/b>. It is a performance combining text and music written and composed by Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

LORCA<\/span>-Living The Experience, features performances by renowned actresses\u00a0Rebeca Alem\u00e1n, Ana Santos, Kris Tori,<\/strong>\u00a0the rising\u00a0Teresa Echeveste<\/strong>, and the special appearance of the\u00a0\u00a0Venezuelan actress,\u00a0Carlota Sosa.<\/strong><\/p>

Our return to in-person theater unites what we have created in these 20 years of history and what we have learned throughout the pandemic.<\/p>

The actresses will share the stage with\u00a0Camilo Rasquin, Andrea Salcedo<\/strong>, and\u00a0Diego Salcedo<\/strong>, renowned musicians from the city of Chicago.<\/p><\/div>

\u00a0<\/div>
LORCA<\/span>, Living the Experience<\/strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0is a show that highlights the protagonists of Federico Garc\u00eda\u00a0Lorca<\/span>‘s plays: The Prodigious Woman of the Shoemaker, Do\u00f1a Rosita the Spinster, Blood Wedding, The House of Bernarda Alba, Yerma, and Mariana Pineda.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Through video mapping, the poet and his characters become immersed in an atmosphere filled with flamenco music written and composed by\u00a0Lorca<\/span>\u00a0through heel tapping, piano, guitar, and voice. Through these female voices and his music,\u00a0Lorca<\/span>\u00a0speaks to the audience about free will, profound pain, passionate love, imprisoned blood, the absence of hope, and ultimately revealing the profound meaning of freedom.<\/div>
