LO QUE EL MAR SE LLEVÓ

A play in memory of all victims of violence throughout the world.

Escrito por REBECA ALEMÁN

Choreographed by VANESSA VALECILLOS

It was the centerpiece of the Dialogue for Peace and Justice Forum, the short film “Gone with the Sea” written and directed by Rebeca Alemán, which represents the inspiration for using art to educate and inspire social change as it tells a story about victims of violence in Latin America, United States and the entire world. “Gone with the Sea” was created in memoriam of Mónica Spear, a young actress and her husband whose lives were taken by violence leaving a 5-year-old daughter behind. This short film gives a voice to their little girl Maya, and all children who have lost parents and other family members as a result of violence across the world including local criminality, terrorism and war.

“It is a voice for children who are victims of violence. The aim is to gather as many people as possible in actions aimed at achieving a more just, inclusive, and peaceful society,”
