We are going to LA

We are going to be part of the 10th anniversary edition of the Encuentro Festival in Los Angeles

About Encuentro 2024

It’s a celebration of dynamic, contemporary Latiné theater at the heart of Los Angeles. This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Latino Theater Company’s first National Encuentro in 2014, and the festival continues to grow in its mission of showcasing the rich diversity of Latiné voices in the performing arts.

From October 24 to November 10, 19 theater companies and 165 artists from across the U.S. and Puerto Rico will transform The Los Angeles Theatre Center into a vibrant hub of public performances, cross-company collaborations, and thought-provoking discussions.

Join us for three unforgettable weeks as we celebrate the resilience, creativity, and strength of our communities, reaffirming our commitment to fostering new voices and inspiring future generations of artists. Performances will take place on a rotating schedule, running simultaneously every Thursday through Sunday across six distinct spaces within The LATC complex. Don’t miss this electrifying national theater festival!

The Delicate Tears of The Waning Moon

Escrita por Rebeca Aleman
Dirigida por Iraida Tapias

Inspired by true events, The Delicate Tears Of The Waning Moon addresses the relentless violation of human rights against journalists who strive to report the truth. Paulina, a journalist advocating for indigenous communities and victims of femicide, has recently emerged from a coma after a brutal attack. To achieve justice, she needs to recover her memory and reveal the truth. She only remembers having a mother and a daughter. Rodrigo, her best friend, is by her side and makes unimaginable efforts to assist her. Our first run was at Steppenwolf 1700 in Chicago in 2019, followed by performances at Repertorio Español NY in 2024, Instituto Cervantes of Chicago (September-October 2024). The play is Jeff Recommended and now will be part of Encuentro 2024.
